Serbia selects Vinci Airport as finalist in Belgrade airport concession tender

Serbia has invited Vinci Airport to sign take over Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade under a 25 year concession agreement. The winning bid was for a payment of EUR 501m and a commitment for investment of EUR 732m in the airport. The initially envisaged investments included a hotel, new runway and new cargo centre. The airport is listed on the Belgrade stock exchange with the current MCap at EUR 472m. The Serbian government holds 83% of the equity. The rest of the company is controlled by smaller stakeholders, including Societe Generale Bank Serbia, KJK Fund II and Raiffeisen holding 1.4%, 1.3% and 1.1%, respectively. Airport traffic for Jan-Oct 2017 was 4.6m passengers (+9% YoY) Passenger traffic at Airport Sofia for the period Jan-Oct 2017 was 5.5m. The Bulgarian airport concession process is in preparation, with the World Bank and EBRD acting as advisers to the government.
