The Ministry of Finance expects BGN 0.8bn budget surplus at end-December’17

The Ministry of Finance announced that it expects Bulgaria’s consolidated budget balance to amount to BGN 0.8bn surplus as of end-December 2017, equivalent to 0.8% of the expected 2017 GDP*. For December alone the budget should close at BGN 1.6bn deficit. The 12-months revenues and grants are foreseen to total BGN 35.2bn (99.4% of the planned for the year). Tax and non-tax revenues have increased by 8.6% YoY to 102.8% of the annual plans, while the grants should amount to 57.2% of the annual plans. The expenditures (including the contribution to the EU budget) are projected at BGN 34.4bn (93.7% of the annual plans), up by 6% YoY. *2017 expected GDP of EUR 50.16bn.
